Octopus and Mountains
On Monday night, we had a Spanish (Galician, really) delicacy called "pulpo" ("octopus"). Despite being told many times, my parents were still kind of surprised that, yes, it really was a real octopus.

The In-Laws Go To Bilbao
We’re having a big in-law-fest(-tation) here in Spain. Both Marga’s parents and my parents slept at our house last night. We spent Saturday in Bilbao and saw a bullfight.

Moderation Proof
How many times have you heard someone say, “Moderation in all things“, “Take everything in moderation”, or “X is fine, but in moderation”? Replace X with anything you like: food, alcohol, exercise, sleep, etc. I will now prove to you why this statement is completely meaningless.

Extremadura – 2006
We’ve returned from our week in Extremadura. This year was shorter (we usually go for a fortnight) and more inactive due to inclement weather. There were three days in a row of temperatures in the 60s and low 70s when normal temperatures don’t drop below about 85. Plus, we went the week after the town’s festival this year, so everyone else was either gone already or tired of partying.
