It took her three decades, but Marga has finally reached the birthday where her age is the same as the day of the month. That’s right! Today Marga turns 30.

Yesterday I received a goat in the mail. I came home, and there he was, nestled in the mailbox, calmly chewing on a bank statement.

Last Friday we left for Mondragon. I had to get up early (by Spanish standards) to play in the chess tournament at 9:00 am on Saturday morning. I went to bed early, reading a book that my father gave me last Christmas, called How To Beat Your Dad At Chess.

I took some pictures when I walked around town doing some Christmas shopping today.

I’ve understood for a few years now that I am the one in control of my happiness, and that greed and wanting more than you can realistically get is a sure way to avoid happiness.

May I be the first to wish you a Happy Winter Solstice! Finally, some hope of respite from the darkness we were thrust into in October with the end of our arbitrarily-imposed daylight savings time.

In the Tate Modern art museum in London, they have these huge sculptures (?) that are slides like you’d find on any playground.

I’m not sure how it happened, but I’m going to be playing in a chess tournament this Saturday.
