Ah! Well, in that case, vest away! You can't be too elegant for a Spanish wedding. Well, a tux might be too much...

Will the father of the bride be wearing a vest?

I have no idea. Good question. I would bet not, but I'll ask him.

If you're worried about only wearing a two-piece, don't worry. It's very common for the groom to be the only vest-wearer, I believe.

I think you should get the elegant vest you saw in the last shop, and let the woman bring your americana "closer to your body".

Excellent comments, all of you.

sgazzetti: I often wonder which labor mentality is the optimal, sustainable equilibrium based on human nature, the Catholic, socialist, pro-worker, pleasure-oriented, lots-of-holidays, work-to-live mentality of the Mediterranean countries, or the greedy, capitalist, pro-corporation, almost-no-holidays, live-to-work mentality of the United States.

Will the US move towards more socialist policies, or will the Mediterranean countries move towards more capitalist policies? Or maybe both will oscillate back and forth... As someone who lives in one system and works in the other, this unbalance is very noticeable and important to me.

hubbers: It was only fruitless because I had the entourage, I think. If I had been alone, I would have bought the first one I tried on. I thought getting married was all about not <strike>getting</strike> having to make decisions anymore anyway.

I'm afraid that our wedding will have strict "sleeves required" and "masks prohibited" dress code, so you might have to dig around in the wardrobe a bit more.

Erik my good friend - you shop like a woman!!! Make a bloody decision man. And don't drag the same poor people out on another fruitless search. Get a whole new bunch of suckers with a whole day to waste watchin you not make up your mind.

I was planning to wear this (the orange is mucho Spanish si?) or maybe even this if it's wet. But I can see that I will have to lift my game after reading this entry.

Looking forward to the big day!!!

Sounds interesting and exhausting. I'm very much the same sort of "moody" shopper as you are -- it can take me a year to buy a new pair of shoes.

Thanks for introducing a new use of the word puente. It will be handy here in Slovenia, where this happens almost every month. Several of my coworkers pulled a double puente with this one: last Friday was a Slovenian holiday (Dan Upora Proti Okupatorju, Day of Uprising Against the [Nazi] Occupiers), and the day after May Day is taken as another local holiday; so some of my lazier colleagues took two weeks off. A suspension bridge, that one.

What an interesting trip. I'm not a big shopper. I tend to buy something that I like and then make myself stop looking for fear of finding something better. It's also hard for me if there are too many choices. I'm sure that whatever you end up with will be just right. Speaking of suspenders, I used to put those on you and you looked very cute. Why do firemen wear red suspenders?

To keep their pants up.
