Wow! I'm impressed by the volume of comments lately...even if it is a friend telling me I'm an idiot and my parents agreeing with me.

I enjoyed it, but, like you, I had to get myself over the hump of scoff. When Denzel, catching on, says "But what about the audio?", didn't the government geeks just look at each other and never answer the question of, assuming all your satellites can triangulate their images to produce Hollywood quality images from a variety of angles of whatever you choose, how is sound recorded? Like you, I just decided to move on, and try to enjoy, and, as I said, I did. Mentally computing the 4+ days time difference, and the repercussions of change, was more challenging than your average movie.

As it happens, we watched Deja Vu this past weekend too. I should say that Paul saw it all and I watched as much as I could stand of the scrambled time sequences and then walked out. I did come back for the last 5 minutes to see how the relationships were resolved, but that was it. I don't mind time travel backwards like in Crichton's Timeline. I guess it must be the futuristic stuff. I don't really want to see into the future . . .

Yeah, I think you're right. I recall that I still kinda liked his character for some reason, though.

his Oscar-winning role in Training Day was still heroic

What? You thought he was heroic? I might have to re-watch that film as I thought he was nothing but a corrupted thug with a badge.
