On Saturday, we got up, packed our bags, and drove to Mondragón to celebrate Grandpa Ramón’s 87th birthday.

We had a long weekend. It was pretty evenly divided into three separate events, so I’m going to write three separate posts. The first event was a concert in Colindres on Friday night by Shaila Dúrcal.

Last night, we had five new cactus flowers bloom. Although, due to unfortunate circumstances, no timelapse footage was available, Cactus Cam Productions was on the scene just as the flowers opened. Come with me on a journey….into the cactus flower!

The other day, I was admiring how shiny and reflective the surface of my classical guitar is and, like a good amateur photographer, started thinking of subjects I could reflect it in.

Just like last year, today we had a free town sponsored meal in the park. The dish was cocido montañes, the most typical food here in Cantabria. It’s a stew with beans, cabbage and meat.

Today at noon, when I was putting on my shoes to go buy bread, I stuck my head out the window and found this fantastic panorama before me.
