sgazzetti, yes, it's hard to find items that are worth more than their weight in shipping. From now on I'm only shipping diamonds and high-end microprocessors.

Heather, snowmobiles are just sled dogs that don't poop as much. <strike>Crazy</strike> real men, like my uncle, don snow shoes, tread out onto the frozen lake, poke a hole in the ice and fish for lunch. The fact that humans, who are best adapted to running naked on the African plains, can survive, and thrive, in such an environment is truly amazing to me.

Personally, I'd rather drink my eggnog on a beach in Hawaii, but that's just me.

If you are a MN native like myself, you don't need any stinking sled dogs, that's what snow mobiles are for :)

I love Lake Superior.......

The shipping thing really is out of control. It breaks my heart to see how much my family has spent on getting packages to us lately. Last week a few birthday presents arrived for Adam from his North American grandmother, and the shipping costs and declared value were nearly identical. And Jane's generous spreading of the Old Bay joy has run into some serious postage, too.

Nice photo! I love Grand Marais. I try to get up to the north shore of Lake Superior a couple times a year. I've never been there in the dead of winter, though.
